WE'VE BEEN PUTTING MOVIES ON THE WEB SINCE 2001 when we launched the first website for our documentary,
PUPPET FESTIVAL, with eleven short clips of puppet artists from all over the world. In those days, we used what was called a media cleaner, which was handy since you could make various sizes of movie files and QuickTime would select which one to play based on your connection to the web -- all automatically. Cool! Unless, of course, if you didn't mind waiting for a better, bigger version to download.
SO TODAY, USING QUICKTIME 7, I compress a clip for dial-up viewers -- that's the SMALL one; and another for broadband users, which is labeled LARGE. For readers with nothing better to do, you can read all about the codec H.246 developed for QuickTime 7

; plus, you may want to know that we are now using a QuickTime Streaming server provided by our recomended hosting service
